By entering the Lighting Design Competition (“the Competition”) organized by NMK Electronics, participants agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Eligibility
The Competition is open exclusively to lighting designers currently residing in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries and holding a valid UAE visa.
Entrants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of submission.
Employees of NMK Electronics, affiliated companies, and immediate family members of such employees are not eligible to participate.
2. Submission Guidelines
Submissions must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights.
By entering, participants confirm they have the legal right to submit the design and that it does not violate any applicable laws or agreements.
3. Ownership and Usage Rights
All submissions become the property of NMK Electronics upon submission.
NMK Electronics reserves the right to use, reproduce, modify, publish, display, distribute any or all submitted materials in perpetuity, worldwide, and in any media, including for marketing, promotional, educational, and training purposes.
NMK may credit the designer where appropriate but is not obligated to do so.
4. Winner Selection and Prizes
The winning entries will be selected by a panel of judges appointed by NMK Electronics and Chauvet Lighting.
The decision of the judges is final and not subject to appeal or correspondence.
The first prize winner is responsible for obtaining any required travel documentation, including U.S. visa applications, and will bear all related costs and responsibilities associated with this.
Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable, and NMK Electronics reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without prior notice.
5. Participation Requirements
Shortlisted participants must be available to attend onsite programming sessions in the UAE as scheduled by NMK. Travel and accommodation, if required, are the responsibility of the participant unless otherwise specified.
Participants must be able to provide proof of identity, residence, and visa status upon request.
6. Code of Conduct
NMK reserves the right to disqualify any participant who engages in inappropriate, unethical, or disruptive behavior, or who is found to have provided false information.
7. Liability and Indemnity
NMK Electronics shall not be held responsible for any loss, damage, or injury (including travel-related) incurred as a result of participation in the competition or use of any awarded prize.
By entering the competition, participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless NMK Electronics from any claims arising out of their participation, including intellectual property disputes or personal injury.
8. Data Protection
Any personal information collected during the course of the competition will be used strictly in accordance with applicable data protection laws and will not be shared with third parties without prior consent, except as required for the administration of the competition.
9. Governing Law
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes arising in connection with the competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UAE courts.
