Denmark-based Dynaudio Acoustics has launched the new BM5A, a professional compact active studio reference monitor speaker.

Attendees of this year's IBC 2004 exhibition in Amsterdam will be able to see and hear the new monitor, however, production studios sound engineers and the like who are here in the UAE do not have to wait. NMK Electronics Ent. in Dubai, distributors of TC Electronic and Dynaudio Acoustics in the UAE have just received these great new monitors and they are now available.

Founded in 1977, Dynaudio has been developing and manufacturing crossovers and drivers for its award winning monitors. Their customers include top recording studios like Air Lyndhurst, The Pierce Room in London, NRG Studios in Los Angeles, Coconut Studios in Cologne, The Hit Factory in New York, as well as leading record producers such as Mike Hedges, Trevor Horn, Steve Lipson, and Mutt Lange. Users among artists include the Pet Shop Boys, the Cocteau Twins, Sade, Marillion and Prodigy. Also a wide range of television, radio, and postproduction users are putting their trust in Dynaudio Acoustics monitors. In fact, the company has recently announced that the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) have made the AIR6, AIR20, and BM5 reference monitors from Dynaudio as the new standard monitors for their facilities.

The 2-way active speaker is powered by two 50-watts amps and operates within a frequency response of 50 Hz - 21 kHz. Designed with a 170mm (6,7') woofer and 26mm (1') soft dome tweeter, the BM 5A delivers the exquisite clarity and performance that is characteristic of all Dynaudio Acoustics studio monitors. Its small footprint makes it well-suited for project studios, edit suites, broadcast vans, and other situations where there is little room for the monitor set-up.
