New $3million TV station opts for RTS

NMK Electronics have recently supplied Fawasel TV with a number of RTS Intercom equipment for their facility in Dubai Media City.

Fawasel TV, a new Saudi-owned Arabic variety channel, which is operating out of Dubai Media City has already invested $3 million since its inception in January 2006. To add to its already sophisticated list of broadcast equipment, the station has purchased a range of RTS intercom equipment to be used in its studio facilities and master control room.

RTS, a brand of Telex Communications, are manufacturers of first class intercom systems from the USA. The requirement included a Zeus II Digital Matrix, RTS keypanels, RTS Two Wire power supply and beltpacks, as well as IFB talent transmitters and receivers. Since the station already purchased Sony cameras with CCUs, they were easily integrated with the Zeus II via the triax connection making it a practical and cost effective implementation. As an intercom solution, the system provides complete full duplex communication with the director and cameraman, while at the same time being able to prompt the presenters during broadcast.

'Fawasel TV has made the right choice in choosing RTS for their intercom requirements because it can accommodate their current requirements comfortably and most importantly it can be easily modified to handle any future expansions, which are most certainly expected,' said Chicco Hiranandani, Business Development Manager at NMK Electronics Enterprises.
